LeNell

lenellheadshotinredDespite an undergraduate degree in French and theatre and a master's in public administration, LeNell defines herself first and foremost as a bartender.  She’s been called many names that may not be appropriate to print.  She's owned her own whiskey label called Red Hook Rye and even been recognized by her home state of Alabama as an Honorary Colonel.  She’s lugged bottles of alcohol all over New York City as a wholesale sales rep, charmed guests as a front of the house restaurant manager, and owned a darn good liquor store called LeNell’s for over five years where she became known globally as an American whiskey evangelist.

LeNell's Ltd was recognized by numerous publications including GQ magazine as one of the "Best 50 Stores in America," by Whisky magazine as "US Retailer of the Year," by New York magazine as "Best Liquor Store" and by NYC Department of Small Business Services as "Small Business of the Year."  Unfortunately she lost her lease with acquisition of the property by a new landlord and had to shut down in February of 2009.  After a grueling real estate search in NYC, she's happy to have found peace in La Paz, Mexico as her new home.  She still swears tequila had nothing to do with it.

to mature is to create oneself endlessly.
